Your role as Chemical data analysis (chemometrics) specialist

Your future goal is to realize an effective chemical data analysis environment in order to support the R&D department in reaching optimal output quality via efficient work processes. In addition, you will be a key player in further developing the quality control process related to ink production for all Océ ink lines. This covers the following activities:

-        Responsible for the technical development and maintenance of the LIMS application

-        Guide development of scripts and dashboards for (chemical) data analysis and modelling (chemometrics)

-        Creating a vision on LIMS, chemometrics and analysis workflows

One part of this role has a mainly supportive character, for which it is important that you are able to translate complex questions into practical applications and solutions. The other part enables you to set and follow the course that is best according to you. For the latter part, it is important that you can manage to keep an overview of the big picture (for example: multiple (sub-)projects for different customers that will run in parallel) and to maintain sufficient uniformity and flexibility within the LIMS application.

Department

Part of our R&D organization, the department Analysis & Measurements (± 35 people) contributes to product developments and research subjects from an expertise point of view. The department houses several specialist measurement techniques, develops and ensures sufficient knowledge on crucial subjects related to printing technologies and maintains relations with external (research) partners. Within this department you are part of the Chemical Analysis team.

Who are we looking for?

You bring a drive to achieve results and have affinity with and interest in analytical measurement methods and (R&D) laboratory environments.

Furthermore, you meet the following criteria:

  • You have at least a MSc degree in Physical Sciences or closely related.
  • You possess any experience in an applied technical environment.
  • You have affinity with applied statistics/chemometrics. Experience with working in a (chemical) analytical laboratory environment is a plus.
  • You bring along some experience with scripting. Knowledge of database applications and any working experience with R, SQL or MS SQL Server are a plus.
  • You possess good communication skills.
  • You are known for your independent thinking and perseverance as well as for your creativity and can-do attitude.
  • You are proficient in English and, preferably, also in Dutch.
