Supply Chain Planning

Canon Production Printing develops, produces and distributes high-end printing systems. The consumables department is responsible for the availability of consumables like toner, ink, printheads and expendables which are needed to keep those systems printing at our customers. The supply chain management department consists of nearly 20 supply chain engineers and supply chain planners which work in teams to support the various factories and product lines.

Your Role as Supply Chain Planner

Your task will be to make sure that the right quantity of raw materials is available in time for production to run smoothly. In alignment with supply chain engineering you take care of the detailed setup and continuous maintenance and improvement of the supply chain like material planning, material control, assembly, production, stock takes, internal deliveries, etc.

Tasks are for example:

• Ordering, follow-up of orders for parts and raw materials, based on requirements.
• Work with suppliers to secure timely delivery of materials
• Analyze the supply chain and make proposals for optimization, report supplier (delivery) performance
• 1st line support to production in Sunrises
• Inventory accuracy, stock differences, checks and follow-up in case of deviations.
• Stock takes and coordination of stock takes.
• Analyze and maintain parameter setting in SAP (fee. safety times, delivery times, etc.), adjustments after approval
• Support NPI projects (i.e. material releases, changes, scheduling agreements, etc.)
• Administrative execution of phase-outs (stop contract, parameters adjustments)
• Smaller improvement projects (optimize and setup work instructions)
• Visit suppliers
• Various SAP bookings
• Transport to and from service providers and internal customers

This position is based in Venlo.

A good example

You have just reviewed the MRP proposals to release orders for raw materials. As you see demand has increased you pro-actively contact your supplier to discuss the possibilities to improve delivery dates. At the same time you check if all confirmed deliveries are still on track for delivery coming week.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with a strong operational focus, an energetic drive to secure material supply at all times and with good communicative skills. You have proven experience with problem solving and are a well-organized team player. Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:

• Completed MBO-4 “Logistiek” or “supply chain management”
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a production (and preferably supplier-oriented) environment
• Proven experience with SAP and MS Office
• Persistent, flexible, stress tolerant and solution oriented
• You can convince suppliers with strong communication skills.
• Good Dutch and English language skills at a level which allows you to have contact with suppliers and colleagues all over the world.
• Experience with LEAN manufacturing, inbound planning and supplier management
• Full time availability

You can also be a starter at HBO level, if you have the ambition to work minimum 2 years in this role to gain operational experience
