Office Depot Europe has an exciting opportunity for a Merchandising Assistant to join our European headquarters in Venlo, the Netherlands. The role is a temporary positionoffering an excellent salary and benefits package.

Your role as a Merchandising Assistant

You are responsible for delivering administrative assistance to the Merchandising Manager, Product Manager and Merchandising Specialist. Supports the merchandising team concerning questions of co-workers, customers and other in and external parties. Supports in pricing updates and monitoring of market pricing. And work together with Procurement, Supply Chain, Item Operations, BI and Content Development which makes up the matrix “Category Team“

  • Executes the sku lifecycle plans linked to the overall category plans (phase in/out), communicating actions and maintaining product databases/systems
  • Executes all approved product plans, promotional plan and pricing across all touch points, ensuring accuracy across operating systems and print/digital media
  • Keeps up-to-date files of competitor catalogues, flyers, price lists etc. for reference
  • Manages product enquiries and questions according to agreed timelines
  • Completes all product related administration in line with pre-defined deadlines
  • Provides and/or compiles product related data and reports on request

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor degree or 0- 2 year experience in supporting a department manager and department
  • Excellent knowledge of English, spoken and written. Other language skills such as: Dutch, German and/or French would be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent skills in Office 365 (especially advanced Excel skills)
  • Customer focus and awareness, with communication skills
  • Priority setting and deadline management
  • Ability to plan and get things done both through formal and the informal network
