Office Depot Europe has an exciting opportunity for an Oracle Reporting / Technical Expert (Junior / Medior) to join our European headquarters in Venlo, the Netherlands. The role is a fulltime, permanent positionoffering an excellent salary and benefits package.

Your role as an Oracle Reporting / Technical Expert (Junior / Medior)

Office Depot Europe is transforming itself to meet changing customer expectations and be competitive in a rapidly changing industry. We have ambitious goals to grow our digital B2B direct sales business. After many years of acquisition, limited governance, and a carve-out from Office Depot Inc. in 2017, the current IT landscape is extensive and complex. Recent investments in eCommerce and modernisation have made good progress but a large challenge, and opportunity, remains. We are investing heavily in technology. The IT and Digital Engineering teams are developing strategies to increase agility and business value. We are building a new Corporate Services IT team to develop, manage and support the technology used by the Finance, HR, Legal and Communications teams. This team will manage solutions including Oracle Fusion Finance through an ERP/Financial Centre of Excellence team; WorkDay HCM; Concur expense management and around 100 other IT systems and services.

The role of the Oracle Reporting / Technical Expert is to develop, customise, maintain and support Oracle applications to the requirement of the business with a very strong focus on reporting. You will use your experience for supporting Oracle ERP/Financial systems to ensure the end-to-end working of Oracle Cloud, Oracle EPM, APRO, and the Cloud9 integrations to legacy, Workday, Concur etc. You will work together with Office Depot’s enterprise IT to ensure high quality interfaces and integrations. Main stakeholders are Office Depot’s enterprise IT and 3rd parties.

• To build and publish regular and incidental service reports and reporting of performance against SLA, providing insights and recommendations
• Support the SMEs/technical individuals to get the right outcomes from them and other support teams e.g. Oracle, APRO, Workday, SAP and the business
• To ensure operational effectiveness of interfaces/integrationsto and from the applications
• To have working knowledge of the relevant 3rd party contracts and technical support processes that underpin Office Depot’s ERP/Financial solution e.g. Oracle, APRO etc.
• To possess an excellent understanding of the OTC, PTP and RTR functions
• Communicate and support updates, releases, patches and associated regression testing schedules
• Understand and document the Oracle software modules that comprise the Office Depot Oracle ERP / Financial solution
• Together with the team responsible for managing all development work through JIRA, and all support work through ServiceNow
• To ensure consistent and effective support of incident, configuration and change activities and effective use of ServiceNow and JIRa
• To continually review systems and data backup policies with 3rd parties and ensure that regular backups are taken, are correct and available to minimise the risk of data loss
• To work with 3rd parties and internal support teams to develop the application’s disaster recovery and continuity plan as part of the Office Depot wide business continuity plan
• Must be very comfortable with change and evolution, taking the initiative to identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives, engaging with and winning the support of key senior stakeholders in pursuit of service excellence
• Maintain a knowledge database (KDB) and known error database (KEDB), including application modules and the processes they relate to, to support the efficiency of the team
• To log all ERP / Financial technology / process risks in the Risk Register and help to identify and apply mitigating actions to reduce the risk (probability and impact)

What do you need to be successful in this role?

• Must have relevant experience as an Oracle ERP Expert role within an international (pan European) organisation, providing ERP technical support to finance teams
• Must have excellent practical skills in the use of the Oracle Fusion and Oracle BI tools for reporting; knowledge of ETL tools and techniques for extract, mapping and troubleshooting data quality issues; and understands the core capabilities of the Oracle modules and workflow with the ability to triage workflow issues
• Fluent knowledge of English, spoken and written. Other language skills such as German and/or Dutch would be a distinct advantage
• Must be a complete ‘end-to-end’ thinker, be inquisitive and understanding of up- and downstream processes within and outside the assigned process area and can understand how the impact of changes in one process/module could impact on other processes and modules
• Must be motivated to learn fast and a lot on both the operational business processes and the Oracle Cloud processes
• Experience of working in an agile environment (Kanban, Scrum)
• Must have experience of working with ITSM tools; knowledge of ServiceNow an advantage
• Knowledge of security management concepts; understanding of ISO 27001 advantageous
• Experience of working with cloud hosted services (PaaS, SaaS)
• Must be fully conversant with ITIl
