We have an opportunity for a Chief Commissioning Engineer to join our Venlo, NL/Fredericia, DK team. You will be working in the Construction and Commissioning Department, managing the planning and execution of commissioning site work for all our projects, supported by a dedicated team of commissioning engineers in direct report. You will develop your team with respect to continuous motivation, competence development, training and management of Commissioning Engineers.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Managing the Commissioning team, in such a way that objectives are achieved.
    • Solve any Commissioning Engineers HSE issues on site and on business trips and included in the project execution team.
    • The work includes planning and facilitate the commissioning jobs for your team.
    • Support and do the trouble shooting during commissioning
    • Contribute to the success and quality by participating in design reviews and report non-conformities (NCR)
    • Develop and maintain the various management commissioning tools
    • Execution of commissioning, with ongoing budget follow-up of site work and distance support of Commissioning Engineers.
    • Organize, plan, monitor and distribute all resources for projects and ensure the quality of the work. Motivate, instruct, guide and coach the Commissioning Engineers resulting in continuous improvements.
    • Conduct performance and appraisal interviews, provide input for departmental and group objectives and company vision
    • Setting up processes, working methods within their own group, and coordinating them within and outside the Project Management Department.
    • Endure compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Preparing plans, procedures and commissioning on-site schedules
    • Allocate resources according to project planning, customer & scope, in cooperation with the responsible Project Manager (PM)
  • Monitor the progress of commissioning activities and make adjustments to deliver solutions within the project budget.
    • Early detection of deviations and making proposals for measures to be taken
    • Assessing improvement proposals (based on evaluations) and implementing them of agreed improvements
    • Managing various sites from various ongoing projects
    • Coordinate action plans with project managers based on site reports
    • Support the project evaluations and provide feedback to the internal organization.

Key Qualifications

  • Technical background
  • Have earned a Bachelor's Degree as Mechanical Engineer or Marine Engineer
  • Have 5 years of experience within process plants
  • Have onsite experience with process plants either during installation or commissioning
  • High level communication skills in the English language.
