We have an opportunity for a SGS Head of Project Management to join our Venlo, NL team. You will be responsible for leading the European Project Management team within Biogas and CO2 Recovery. This team manages the realization of carbon dioxide recovery and biogas upgrading projects from the moment of order intake to the moment of successful start-up. This means your team bears final responsibility for quality, technical aspects (including detail engineering) and finances.

You Will

  • Have frequent communications, both nationally and internationally, with team members sitting abroad, locally located in Venlo, but also customers and suppliers
  • Manage employees on location from Venlo in cooperation with the Chief Commissioning Engineers, during the assembly and start-up phase.
  • Manage a multi-disciplinary project team, during the realization phase
  • Have a role in supporting sales with upcoming projects, with appointing Project Managers for future projects, giving advice on budget, planning, and identifying risks

Key Qualifications

  • You have a background as project manager combined with a relevant technical background at Bachelor (higher professional training) level, preferably mechanical engineering, physics or processing technology.
  • 5+ years of international experience within leading a project management department
  • Highly preferable Project Management Certification (PMI / Prince / similar)
  • Detailed background knowledge and/or hands-on experience in relevant industries.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Visio etc.
  • You can communicate in the English and preferable Dutch languages, both spoken and written
  • You are a driven, ambitious professional, with natural persuasiveness and strong communication skills, and you are highly customer-oriented
  • You can convince people by argument, have a positive attitude and a pro-active approach to your work. You also have a practical nature and are capable of setting your own objectives and delegating tasks to the team. You are creative and innovative, and you think in terms of opportunities and solutions. You feel involved with the people and the organization and you can establish relationships quickly and easily with others. You are able to travel (international) to our customers for projects meetings when required (approx. 6 times a year).
