Sales Ops Specialist, (Venlo/Fredericia)

Job Description

The position of Sales Ops Specialist is a combined role of Sales Tools development and Bid Process management. You will be a key member of the Sales Support team focused on collaborating with the SGS Product Category Leader and SGS Sales Support Leader to execute the development and implementation of a new pricing, quoting, and product configuration tool (CPQ application). The Sales Ops Specialist will take on responsibility for the development, implementation and maintenance of the CPQ and Sales Tools across the SGS Business and support adoption and training of the application.

"The Sales Ops Specialist will support the Outside Sales team during the bid process and provide commercially competitive solutions to our customers and convert these into orders."

Duties And Responsibilities

Sales Ops & Tools (70% to 80%)

  • Execute on roadmap to develop and implement the pricing, quoting, and product configuration Tool (CPQ) across the SGS Business
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering and Technology
  • Engage the business on continuous improvement to promote simplification and optimization of the process and technology associated with CPQ
  • Partner with Technology and 3rd party vendor to achieve successful implementation
  • Prioritize enhancements for the CPQ application post deployment
  • Champion to drive adoption and success of the CPQ application
  • User adoption and end-user experience

Sales Support (20% to 30%)

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders by analyzing information to develop proposals and quotations for customers and direct bids
  • Support in developing, organizing and administering standard sales formats for library quotes and equipment costing
  • Support Supply Chain and Operations with information related to usage of parts and materials of construction for forecasting needs


  • You have a Bachelor degree, preferably in a technical or commercial field
  • Have a background in equipment manufacturing and/or process industry company
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a sales and bid proposals environment
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial experience implementing Pricing and Quoting tools; inclusive of working with development teams to translate requirements
  • CPQ implementation experience required
  • Good communicator with excellent verbal and written skills in English. A second language (German/Dutch) is a plus
  • Leadership skills, ability to influence others by being flexible and adaptable
  • Good organization skills, work ethics, self-driven, communicative team player
  • Excellent commercial, creative and solution-oriented skills
  • Proactive, energetic and conceptual with a hands-on mindset
  • Experience with a CRM system (preferably Sales Force)
